YEESSI in collaboration with NDM holds the Prize Giving Ceremony of A.R.T Contest
The 5 week long online contest will come to an end on Saturday 29th of August, 2020 with the Prize Giving Ceremony.
The top two winners among the ten finalists will be awarded cash prizes.
The program will feature keynote speech to be delivered by Monitoring Cmdt Alistair Shoyode, founder of Ben TV UK. Also, Prof Apollos Nwauwa, the Chairman of NDM, Dr. Olarinoye Oyeleke and Amb. Adebobola Agbeja will be discussing during the panel session.
There will be a special entertainment appearance by the popular and talented entertainer, Ayodeji Simbal.
The Chief host is Mr. Kazeem Ojoye, the Chairman of YEESSI, Israel A. Fehintola and Aisha Juma will be the Host and the Co-host respectively.

YEESSI TRAINS CONTESTANTS ON PURPOSE DISCOVERY AND STORY TELLING
The contestants at the on-going Acknowledging Real Talents (ARTs) have been trained on Purpose Discovery and Story Telling.
The training which was facilitated by Coach Ella Obans of the Vita-W Academy gave the contestants the opportunity to learn new things from the astute writer, veteran public speaker and passionate youth advocate.
She highlighted series of steps needed in discovering one’s purpose, she also used real life scenarios to teach them the practicability of those steps.
Also, she trained them on how to write stories, monetize their writing skills and how to be the best at what they do.
The organization in her effort to identify and amplify youths with distinct talents across the country launched the first edition of the ARTs Contest in partnership with the Nigerian Diaspora Commission (NDM).
The four weeks long programme holding in a closed WhatsApp and Telegram groups sees that the contestants are engaged in different capacity building activities.

The conference which was held at the federal university of technology, minna, Niger state, Nigeria witnessed the presence of major stakeholders across the university.

YEESSI Enlighten Youths On Irregular Migration To Europe
In a bid to curb the menace of irregular migration endangering the lives of the Nigerian youth, the Nigerian in Diaspora (NIDO), Germany chapter, in conjunction with the Youth Enlightenment Empowerment and Self Sustainability Initiative (YEESSI) has urged the youth to stay away from any form of irregular migration that may arise from the quest for a greener pasture abroad.
Speaking on the theme of the programme tagged, ‘Fight against irregular migration to Europe, the Chairman YEESSI, Mr Kazeem Ojoye, cautioned youths to stop indulging themselves in any form of irregular migration that may be a threat to life, saying many Nigerian youths have lost their lives while desperately leaving Nigeria.
The event which was held simultaneously at the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Apata, Ibadan and University of Ibadan had in attendance officials from the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking (NAPTIP), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammnarbeit (GIZ) as well as representatives of the Nigerian in Diaspora (NIDO), Germany chapter.
In his speech, the Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration in Oyo State, Mr Akinniran Akinlade enlightened the youth on the safe ways to migrate to Europe legally, saying “If you must travel to Europe or any other country, ensure you are certified by having the necessary documents which include international passport, visa and yellow card among other requirements to enable you stay abroad without having any issue.
Also in his remarks, a representative of the NAPTIP, Fred Uche said the Federal Government has declared war on those involved in human trafficking, saying it is not going to be easy for anybody caught in the act of human trafficking again.
Recounting her ordeal, a victim of irregular migration (to Italy), Mercy Akinkuowo, said she saw hell on the way and yet couldn’t get to Italy before she voluntary reported to the Nigerian Embassy in Libya for deportation back to Nigeria.
Akinkuowo disclosed that she was deceived by a human trafficker who told her that the journey to Italy would only take her one week but ended up being an endless journey.
“It was only God that saved me, I was imprisoned in Libya by some syndicates when I was caught and then sold out as slave while many of people with whom we embarked on the journey lost their lives in the desert,” she said.
YEESSI chairman, Kazeem Ojoye, who doubles as the Financial Secretary Nigerian in Diaspora (NIDO), Germany chapter, however, said the organisation in conjunction with NIDO Germany will soon organise an empowerment programme for the Nigerian youth, with experts would be invited from Germany to train the youths on various skills and vocations.
